Get Involved

We have a little something for everyone.

Sponsors, partners, teachers, parents, students, you...
From social media challenges to art contests to webinars to in-person events, Food Waste Prevention Week 2022 has a way for everyone to get involved with promoting food waste awareness and education.

As a partner, you are encouraged to tailor messages to fit your organization’s mission and highlight the work you are doing to reduce food waste. Partners amplify food conversation messaging from the Communication Toolkit.

Communications Toolkit

The purpose of this Toolkit is to provide resources and guidance to our partners who join Food Waste Prevention Week to help them raise awareness and inspire action to reduce food waste during the week of April 4-8, 2022.

Take the Pledge

Commit to reducing food waste by taking the pledge. Then, share your commitment to reducing food waste by posting the completion graphic on your social media. Make sure to tag us @savethefoodfl !

Sponsorship funds are handled by the Food Conservation Alliance, and support the Food Waste Prevention Week traditional and digital advertising initiatives, social media campaign, coordinating and executing events like the Food Future Hackathon, the daily Webinar presentations, and the Food Bank Challenge.

Individuals and families

Individuals may get involved by reposting daily social media messages, tuning in to one of our webinars, donating to the Food Bank Challenge, joining a student challenge like the K-12 Art Contest, or attending one of our in-person events. Follow us on Twitter or Instagram @savethefoodfl. Things like the social media Bingo Challenge and going online to take the Pledge get everyone involved. Spread the word! Invite your partners, colleagues and friends to join us!

Food Bank

This is a virtual fundraiser to benefit Food Bank Farmer Procurement Programs where Food Banks purchase imperfect and excess crops directly from farmers. Challenge begins April 4, 2022 and ends April 10, 2022.
